When it comes time for a vehicle or motorcycle state inspection, you need to seek service from a certified state inspection site. To obtain an inspection certificate, you must have your vehicle inspected at an authorized safety inspection station in Maryland. Maryland State Inspection Checklist

There are up to 100 different items that get checked during a Maryland Safety Inspection. This can take the inspector approximately 2-3 hours to complete this task. A few items that you should check before bringing your vehicle into us include:

  • Doors—make sure all doors open and close from the inside and out
  • Windows—driver’s side window needs to be operational, in the event that hand signals need to be used
  • Windshield—windshields need to be free from chips and cracks
  • Seatbelts—all seatbelts need to latch and unlatch as designed
  • Lug nuts--check to make sure all lug nuts are present
  • Lights-check to make sure all exterior lights work, including tag lights, brake lights, fog lights (if equipped), turn signals, head lights, etc, and that lenses are not broken
  • Wipers—check wiper blade condition and make sure they can clear the windshield
  • Mirrors—mirrors must be present and functional. Power mirrors must operate by switch in any direction.
  • Seat operation—drivers seat needs to adjust/function as designed
  • Rust-body panels can have no rust holes or jagged edges
  • Hood-ensure hood opens easily and will latch securely
